Special Olympics 2014 press video
The Special Olympics is a worldwide sports event for athletes with a mental disability, organized every four years in one of the bigger European cities. The 2014 edition, called the “Games of the Heart”, was hosted by Antwerp, with professional video teams capturing the event at venues all over Flanders.
The organisation asked Rambla to come up with a solution that would allow to distribute video footage to journalists from all over Europe, in a secured environment. Authenticated users could not only preview the video’s, but they could also download broadcast quality video for further editing and distribution through their respective TV and online channels. At the same time, all uploaded media files needed to be synchronized with the organisation’s YouTube channel for social media embedding.
Rambla’s Vidiview platform proved to be a perfect match for their needs. Vidiview is developed as a web based service, requiring no setup or installation. It features a user management module and fine grained, project-based access control. Unwanted video sharing is prevented by expiring url’s. Video’s can be made downloadable for authorised users, which makes it a user-friendly and cost effective alternative for old fashioned FTP sharing or courier delivery. The comments module allows production companies and their clients to centralise and share feedback on raw rushes in one place.
