Service Overview
To make sure all the Rambla CDN advantages - high performance, reliability, scalability, ease of use... - apply to both live and on-demand streaming, we have deployed Wowza Media Server instances on all nodes of our CDN. As a certified Wowza Streaming Partner, Rambla has ample experience in using Wowza Media Server for rich media delivery and interactive applications. Our competitive prices, combined with the fact that streaming only delivers the content that is actually being watched, allows our customers to reduce costs while still providing a high quality multimedia experience to their end-users.
Flash Streaming
By default, all customer accounts are pre-configured for high-performance Flash streaming. To make your media files stream to a Flash player, you only need to store them on the Rambla CDN in a Flash player-compatible format.
- MP4 (H264/AAC - .mp4, .f4v, .mov, .m4v, .mp4a, .3gp, and .3g2)
- FLV (Flash Video - .flv)
- MP3 (.mp3)
Additionally, we can enable custom wowza applications (e.g. for low-latency streaming, server-side recording, collaboration, chat...), or help you configure or tune them. Customers can also request advanced Wowza Media Server functionality, such as:
- SecureToken strong anti-ripping protection to secure your content from pirating
- TiVo-like Fast Forward/Rewind trick play for prerecorded Flash (.flv) files
- Exclusive MP3 and AAC SHOUTcast/Icecast re-streaming
- Remote Shared Objects (RSO)
